Flooring
I always get asked what type of floor coverings to put into bathrooms. Carpets and Wooden floors are not recommended as they do not mix well with water, We have all been in bathrooms that have wet carpets or laminate flooring that has lifted. I recommend ceramic tiles or vinyl flooring. This gives a much better protection against water and leaves a professional and clean finish to any bathroom.
Soft flooring options such as Amtico or Karndean are better to reduce the overall weight and will give a warm feel. One of the most exciting recent developments for bathroom's is a new range of timber flooring. It is constructed from hardwood backed with a base of marine ply birch so it is immune to changes in temperature and humidity and can even be used with underfloor heating.
